If that is true, Pookey Wigington is the Executive Chef, serving a multi-flavored cuisine of comedy for over 20 years.

On September 17, 1999, Pookey began his stake in the world of comedy by launching Chocolate Sundaes Comedy Show at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California.

Chocolate Sundaes was, and continues to be, a platform for break-out stand-up comedians. Past performers include Kevin Hart, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Katt Williams, Dane Cook, Aries Spears, Tony Rock, Ken Jeong, and Brandon T. Jackson to name a few. 

Don’t let his size fool you. Throughout his life, Pookey has been underestimated and has done what many said he couldn’t at 5’3”. Pookey is a legendary college basketball star known for playing in the 1989 NCAA Final Four Championship game while playing for Seton Hall where Seton Hall lost to Michigan State in overtime. A knee injury prevented Pookey from being able to play in the NBA, but did not stop his drive to entertain.

For almost two decades, Pookey has combined his love for comedy with his event production skills to produce multi-dimensional comedy shows. He is the Executive Producer for Kevin Hart’s comedy specials, Laugh at my Pain, Let Me Explain, and the latest, What Now? released in October 2016.

His relationship with Kevin Hart extends even further. Pookey is also the President of Hartbeat Productions, an Executive of the Laugh Out Loud Network, as well as Executive Producer of Kevin’s latest TV show, Hart of the City on Comedy Central. Together, these two pints have successfully produced over $100 million dollars in gross receipts for their comedy tours and box office smashes.

Pookey’s own business of which he is CEO – I Work 4 U Enterprises – encompasses both the Chocolate Sundaes Comedy Show brand, as well as Business Management under I Work 4 U Entertainment, with comedian clients including Kevin Hart and Deray Davis. He is a visionary in identifying key talent and maximizing potential.

Pookey grew up in Inglewood, California. He received a B.A. in Marketing at Seton Hall University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his four young sons.

As a philanthropist dedicated to the youth, Pookey has developed programs that support the next generation and is recognized for his efforts with nonprofit organizations including Team Dream Academy, Britticares International, Comedy in Schools, Shields for Families and Children Uniting Nations.
